  • Golden. Ripe apple, lime, quince, yellow stone fruits, petrol, sometimes saffron. This shows more intensity and more complexity than a previous bottle. On the palate there is refreshing and lingering acidity that carries the fruit in a long fruity finish. Light on its feet. 5/13/17/10
Imho optimal stored bottles are peaking now, but will hold trough and change maybe for decades. The cork of this was in a pretty good shape.

  • #12-90, 8.5% abv. From half bottle off the list at Chada Thai. I initially thought this was corked, but air didn't make it worse and in fact the off aromas blew off. An aromatic nose, with tons of exotic spices as well as a strong amount of botrytis. This also has a kaleidoscope of fruit on it, though it is not exactly fresh fruit anymore. The palate is a lot drier than the nose would seem to indicate. There are some hints of caramelized sugars as well as some lovely spice notes. Great acidity here to give this drive, as well as a slight bitterness on the back end that adds more than it detracts. The raw minerality plays more of a supporting role with this wine.

  • Light golden yellow. Nose of yellow fruits, honey, minerals, apples, slate and petrol. All in all this reads more complex than it is, as some flavors appear consecutive. Creamy with balancing acidity and well but not complete integrated sweetness. With time it shows hints of muscat in a finish lasting for more than a minute. This Auslese is mature, but still more on the younger site of its lifetime. This bottle was cellared under perfect conditions since its release and the cork is in good condition, so well cellared examples will develope for some more decades.
