In the decanter for 2.5 hours prior to drinking, drank over the next 90 mins. Initial ruby with a purple hue, which faded shortly thereafter. Some usual suspects there for a Barossa shiraz, however felt a little one dimensional and lacked complexity. OK, but a little hmph … Holding up well but I’m not overly excited about my remaining bottle, perhaps I’ll see if another 4 years or so helps.

The wine is superlative ! I like the decadent comment up there !
It is opulent, quite typical of great Barossa Old Vines, but it is smooth at the same time ! Ripe nose, cedar wood, charcoal, refined oak, ripe berries, but hopefully not jammy, a bit of tertiary notes, with wet leaves, grey pepper, sign of the best, it changes all the time !
It is extremely balanced and fresh, served a bit chilled, it is long, easy and savory, salivating, with ripe red fruits, dark cherry, subtle tannins, and great acid balance, ! yummy and savory
Great surprise, I had some BP recently and Warner from Giaconda, this is in between, with extreme subtlety !

Corryton Burge (Strand Cellars): "Served blind. Plums, sweet spice, vanilla, chocolate. Plush, rich and ripe nose initially and this is joined by a little blackberry and earth with time. Juicy, plummy, ripe and rich without being overdone, super persistent talc textured tannins, a little chocolate. Lovely. Old school Barossa Shiraz with a touch of class says Meshach 2010 or 2012 in this company."

Medium to full body. Aromas of garrigue, pot pourri, smoked meat, burned tire. Decadent but with freshness and lift in the aftertaste.

Great wine and drinking well now but would benefit for another 3 to 5 year cellar time
