  • Dry and crumbly cork. Nice aromas of blueberries, blackberry jam, dried cherries, earth, new leather, and flowers. Blackberries, red cherries, a hint of raspberry, earth, and herbs on the palate. Nice acidity, tannins still there but mostly resolved, good medium finish. Surprisingly alive and quite balanced, this was a delicious wine that's not over the top or fading too much, though I would probably drink bottles of this quality over the next few years.

  • This is advanced in appearance. Brick red with a brown rim, but still transparent. Brine and meaty notes on the nose with some floral components still intact. Earthy, secondary mid palate. Medium bodied with plenty of acidic structure intact. Red fruits emerge on the back of the palate and balance beautifully with the earthy/savory tones to offer something worthy of long consideration between sips. Medium length finish, tannins are mostly resolved, but this has some life yet.
