  • This Pinot Noir has a laser-red, rosso corsa, appearance held up against candle flame - beautiful! At 13.5% ABV, the nose is well-balanced with ripe, red plum notes. One sees generous old church window effect upon swirling the wine in the glass. Sweetness of the Pinot Noir grape transitions to pleasant dryness, with gentle acidity and subtle tannins that tell you it is great now, but will hold longer in the cellar. Really, an outstanding production from Ken Wright Cellars! I must admit being surprised at my own September comment, but I will let my new comments stand. Could the wine have changed since then, or did I? Could it have been the accompaniment of the duck breast dinner or was it the Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach playing in the background? In any case, this is a wonderful wine.

  • Lovely, pale ruby color, darker than expected with an Oregon Pinot, with nice legs (13.5% ABV). Sweet nose of red rose and slightly saline, dark plum. Bright acidity with tannins that will keep this wine much longer in bottle. The wine was rough on the open but settled after about 20 minutes of sitting undisturbed. Finish abates early, but with a pleasant enough finish. Will try another bottle in a year to see if further aging improves the temperament.

  • Had this with Bobby Flay double cut pork chop from the Wonder Truck. Apple bourbon glaze. The food was delicious and this was a perfect pairing. No decant, opened at the table. No extensive tasting notes simply that it is drinking beautifully right now.

  • Pretty good, not quite great, generally consistent with previous note. Primary, a lot of blue fruit tonight, not a ton of structure. I read a professional review that described this as "brooding", but personally I don't get any of that. Regardless, approachable, food friendly, reasonably priced.

  • Beautiful light, clear purple. Nose of kirsch and licorice. A little polarized and out of balance on the palate, with both a shade too much primary sweetness and puckery tartness. Medium finish, just a whisper of fine tannins. Not my favorite Oregon pinot, but a solid effort all the same. Very good, especially paired with a mushroom risotto.
