This wine was excellent with an impromptu nice dinner due to the blizzard. Originally Coravined about 6 months ago. Noticed a drip from the bottle. Worries that it would be oxidized. Not a chance! Full, ripe dark red fruits and the tannins were still present, but the flavor came right through. Long finish and still quite an enjoyable wine. Wish I had more. This will last another 10 years in the cellar!

This ripe and gamey Cabernet has a thickness and meatiness that remind me of a Sonoma Syrah more than a Napa Cabernet (except maybe Missouri Hopper). I’ve never had a GIII (or a Schrader for that matter) quite like this one, with a heavy mouthfeel and a gamey profile. Maybe this just needs time, but right now it’s odd - and disappointing.
Dark purple in color and full in body (teardrops on glass), the wine offers heady aromas of boysenberry, ribeye, black licorice, and menthol. The flavors are dense and dour, with notes of black cherry, asphalt, cocoa bean, and burnt wood, followed by a grainy and leaden finish that has all the gracefulness of an anchor. 14.3% alcohol. Wait another few years to open.

Two hour decant. Had this with ribs for Mother's Day. Actually went well with the food. Very subtle. Not the usual Schrader but still enjoyable. Ready to drink now.

Not up to the normal exceptional Schrader standards, but still a very good wine. Needed a 1 hour decant. Not sure it will improve w/more aging.
