Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 95 points

  • Nose of dark berries and plum skin with smoked undertones of defined French oak. Luscious fruit prevails. Decanted for 2 hours, the palate of crushed currants and black berries comes through immediately followed by tannic plum skin and other numerous fruits and berries. The finish is long with minerals with cedar boxCigars Beautiful wine. Looking forward to my next bottle from my cellar in three years.

  • PnP, but could have benefitted from a short decant. Dark purple with aromas of blackberry, plums, cassis, cedar, floral, earth, tar and spice. The palate is big, rich, full bodied. Blackberry, plum, chocolate, cassis, spice, cedar. Silky smooth with a long finish. It seemed sweet, but may have just been all the fruit.

  • black purple color, ultra sweet cassis and blackberry on the nose with strong sweet cola tones, on the palate a painful dose of oak leads into a wine that is as fully extracted for every last bit of volume as I have ever seen, huge sappy sweet fruit, chalk notes, this is not my kind of wine- but credit where it is due, it does show some nuance and certainly seems as though it will endure and slowly mellow for quite a long time, over-extracted wines often come out a bit stewed or pruny with age in my experience- but it is something you can sense or discern even from the start, I am not finding that here- which is at least a good sign, this wine is a whole lot of everything and while I certainly won't be chasing it- for the style it is well made and built for the long haul.

**(**)+ for what it is, ** for me personally, now to 2030+

  • It’s probably not a good sign when you’re the first to review a bottle - meaning I opened it too soon. Yes it is very young but it shows its great pedigree already. Muddled cherries and chocolate emanate from the glass. It’s unctuous and voluptuous with great viscosity already and only going to get better. Another few years before I open the next one. Wait on this one for even better results.
95 score indicates future potential, but more likely to be 96-97 in its prime.
