  Deep garnet with a thin brick-ish rim. Medium slow legs. Intense notes of leather and amarena cherry. Slightly sweet and full bodied with more acidity than expected with 9 years of age in un-ideal conditions. Leather and cherries still apparent on the palate with subtle notes of rose and Italian herbs. Finish is long and bitingly bitter, especially 2 hours after opening.

  Eye: Medium Garnet. Nose: licorice, violet spice. Palate: Off-dry sweet tobacco, dried fruit, medium body. Quality: good. To me, not particularly a good sipping wine, but does enhance the food pairing of Italian Calzone.
