  Fantastic nose of ripe cherries and undertones of earthy flavours. In mouth while still very enjoyable it does not punch as high as the nose The wine is almost too lean. Still very much enjoyed the wine but maybe a bit disconnected between nose and mouth.

  Medium garnet core, wide pale garnet rim. Nose shows dark cherry fruit, damson, some soil notes. This is medium bodied, with attractive ripe morello cherry fruit on the initial attack continuing on to the mid-palate, which shows reasonable depth. The tannins are still a touch firm, but very fine, the balanced acidity carrying a medium + length finish with hints of soy and minerals. Overall a little too far on the strict and lean side (not at all "fleshy" as described by the TWS note), but attractively flavoured, nicely balanced, quite sophisticated and probably with more to give in a few years time (13.5% ABV).
