Community Tasting Notes (7) Avg Score: 89 points

  • Consistent with most previous bottles. Medium ruby in color, this wine reveals bright cherry, black raspberry and sage on the nose. The mouth feel is light/medium bodied and brings out subtle mineral and forest floor undertones. The finish is well balanced with bright acidity that brings the fruit and mineral elements together in a very pleasant fashion. 12.5% abv.

Purchased for $13US, this is a varietally correct, well made wine from a region more known for Riesling. At this price point, its also an outstanding qpr. I'll definitely be purchasing more of this.

  • MAJOR BOTTLE VARIATION GOING ON WITH THIS BOTTLE.

I've drank 3 of these in the past few weeks. I love it and it is an excellent value.

This particular bottle, however, seemed flawed as the fruit, aromas and acidity were all out of sync. Not corked since this is bottled under screwcap, I can only surmise that this bottle was just "off". It was purchased with the same lot that my other good bottles came from so heat damage is not likely.
