This is really really good. I opened about 4 hours before drinking. It had seepage in the capsule. I was concerned obviously, but the wine was excellent. This is so crazily better than every other Bourgogne you run across that it’s just a different category entirely. This was firing. Could easily sit on it for another 5-8 years or more.

Saturday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): I have no idea why anyone bothers with these low-end Leroy bottlings. They're awful wines, even without adjusting for price. No exception here -- oily and fat, lacking acid (for a 2014!), and a few organic-solvent-adjacent notes here and there too.

Killer stuff; the color was still lovely and no signs of oxidation; ripe peach, a hint of pineapple, orchard blossom, with air more minerality and apple alongside some baked lemon; really good intensity and depth for the level; long and lovely; wish you could still buy these for the prices they were these days...

Sodden cork with a black crust… Pale green tinged lemon, barely any colour all really, almost colourless. Kelpy saline, halide infused seaside mineral nose, hint of bitter melon and cream, faint kaffir blossom and lime. Palate youthful, mineral, understated, subtle hints of honeycomb, acacia, lime, maybe a tinge of Mirabelle, intensity builds on the very saline finish. Certainly don’t regret ditching work today to go to the beach…
