  • Colour: Dull, garnet, see through ... light colour. No sediment.
Aromas: Some red berry fruit, and dried berries, cherry. The red fruits initially come across as sweet and then move to a bitterness. Spices like anise, nutmeg, cinnamon. Some definite minerality ... ash, wet stone, and earthiness.
Flavours: Sweet and tart red berry notes. Also a bit of blueberries. A nice light freshness. Spices, and tea bitterness on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied but barely. Vague dusty tannins but way in the background. Good acidity to keep the wine fresh.
Overall: Tasty, still delicious. But you have to like and appreciate the northern climate style of these wines. Not as much weight on the mouthfeel. More minerality, herbal tones. Good overall balance. Smooth.

  • Very disappointed after cellaring for some time. Sour cherry on the nose, faint orange peel, some forest floor. Thin, short finish and one note tasting fell short of expectations.

  • One of the few Canadian wines that can stand aging... and improve.

It's starting to come into shape. Delightful.

  • Dullish red to garnet in colour. No visible sediment. Let the wine air for a couple of hours in the glass. Nice definite notes of ripe strawberries, raspberries and cherries. Also a spices (touch of mild black licorice, cinnamon and nutmeg?), and some earthiness on the finish.
Flavours repeat … maybe some zesty blueberry mixed into the sweetish berry flavours. Good acidity brings the overall structure together. Mild dusty to slightly grainy tannins. Some black tea on the finish. Some berry richness on the entry that flows to a pleasant bitterness on the finish.
Light to medium weight, very pinot like in its overall presentation.
Enjoyed this wine with Thanksgiving meal.

  • Medium red. This bottle was quite reduced so I splashed it back and forth several times. Strawberry nose, perhaps raspberry, too. Richly flavoured of intriguing strawberry and blueberry pinot fruit and black tea. Acid is appropriate for the sweetish fruit and the tannin is firm across my gums on the finish. This is impressively good.
