  • Opened to pair with smoked tea & crab risotto, and the wine was more than up to the task. It showed some of its own smokiness, along with still dripping peach juice, apple, stone and finishing lemon zest. Where it distinguished itself was with the depth and persistence of the flavors. The finish could have been timed with the vineyard's sundial. At nearly 20 years of age this was still notable for its sweetness and richness, but also it's ability to pair with the food and not smother it.

  • Very pure and still quite fresh. Some diesel in the background, but the forefront was slate, honey, apple, lime, and hints of straw. Feel this is in secondary phase, but I'm a fan of it now. Sweetness has subsided a bit and the crystalline texture remains.
