Taste CA Wines (San Diego Wine Co.): Harvested 8/31-9/11/15 @ 24.2° ave Brix with 2.3 tons/acre ave yields; "Monthly bâtonnage for 3 mos with 100% malolactic fermentation; Aged for 10 mos in 100% FR oak (44% new);" 14.8% ABV, 5.65 g/L T.A., & 3.81 pH; 1,935 cases produced & bottled 8/11/16.
N: Cherries slightly atop straws & red rasps
P: LM body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by astringent pucker which only somewhat resolves by the LONG, very, VERY slightly spicy finish with a tangy/swtness & HINT of very, VERY slight bitterness to the very, VERY fine tannins. Could use another 6, poss 12, mos, then drinking for 3 yrs more. My VG+/EXC-; 92 pts WA. [This vendor's $29.99 is ≈$7 < wine-searcher's lowest!]
