That texture that we associate as classic Texier, at least with the Pergaud wines. It's a silky type texture without weight. The structure doesn't seem to be the result of tannin although they are there and help shape the wine. It's snappy and vibrant, but with savory notes. I'm sure this will improve, but it was a great accompanyment to dinner tonight. When a first bottle disappoints, as the Desvignes did tonight, we can always count on Eric to save the day.

Burgundy lovers Rhone - still strong on floral aromatics, with hints of meat, cedar and forest floor. Black cherry, blackberry and other black/blue berries. Lean and acidic body - goes great with food. Avoid to drink alone if you are not a fan of elevated acidity. Elegant, but not so simple Serine/Syrah. I really like it for the price point (~25 eur). Really lean wine - if you like Barthod, Bertheau style low-extraction wines, this should be a nice discovery for a fraction of a price. I liked 2015 and 2016 more (bit less of powerfull acidity and slightly more of a fruit)

Really lovely, transparent stuff. A joy to drink Texier with just a touch of age to it.

Needed a three hour decant to open up. Then, what a joy.

Nose: exquisitely high-toned sour red fruit, dark chocolate, licorice
Palate: purple fruit, some garrigue, very acidic.
Still needs time.
