  • AP 06-15. Ugh. 2014, you ruined such a beautiful run in German Riesling. 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. Each so magnificent in your wonderful ways. But it is no exaggeration to say I'm not a fan of any 2014 I have tasted. And to add salt to the wound, Christoffel Jr. is one of my favorite producers yet none of their 2013 made it to the US and their 2014 vintage was delayed almost a year. Their 2012 Erdener Pralat goldkapsule is one of my all-time favorite wines, but this 2014 is entirely pedestrian and forgettable.

Technically well-made (as can be expected from KoJo Christoffel) but with that odd 2014 juxtaposition of ripeness with an undercurrent sour tinge (many of the 2014s honestly remind me of Sweet-Tarts candy). Still a wonderful nose so maybe this will integrate to be something special, but I won't devote precious cellar space to more than a few bottles.

    Cant's wait for their 2015!!!
