  • Cork, 7.5% alc. AP0503. Very pale lemon.

    Subdued peach, cassis, kero.

A developed flavour, lacking freshness. Seems to possess good acidic drive but ultimately lacks fruit intensity and weight on the mid- and back- palate. Finishes short.

Opinion: Nowhere near as good as the 2003 vintage consumed last year.

  • plenty of features with remind me of simple lemon lemonade, it's refreshing, but for a Christoffel Auslese *** really simple and thin

  • While a likeable and easy drinking wine by itself that is also good with light desserts, the wine has as many flaws as virtues. The worse is that the acidity is too low to balance the sweetness, cleanse out the mouth, or make the wine lively and bright. The second major flaw is that sweetness is the main flavor, with hardly any citrus fruit or secondary flavors such as apple or apricot, which fails to give the wine much savoriness or complexity. Overall, a sadly disappointing failure to make a superb wine from the great Erdener Pralat vineyard in the excellent 2002 vintage.
