A cool, steeliness dominates this wine. Loads of fruit on the front palate but loses a little on the finish. Just needs more time and a lot more than 30 minutes of aeration.

Dark ruby color. Medium fresh aroma of ripe red fruits, black fruits, vanilla, some oak, and forest floor. Dry, pronounced acidity, muscular tannins, fruity body of ripe blackcurrant, black berry, plum, vanilla, some oak. Elegant and well balanced, long finish. 93. Guess Bordeaux 2010 (1/7). Result: Diamond Creek 2004.

Opened on 12/9/2017 for our annual Christmas Party and Wine Extravanganza. So disappointed, the wine was corked. We had opened the wine to share with dear friend before the party got started. Ended up dumping after decanting for 1.5 hrs. It was bad.

(Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill) Very dark red violet color; lifted, cassis, black currant, tart berry nose; tight, tart berry, tart black currant, berry cordial palate; needs 3-plus years; medium-plus finish 92+ points
(Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill) Very dark red violet color; nice ripe cassis, rich black fruit nose; rich, plush, tart black fruit palate with soft tannins and integrating oak; medium-plus finish (tasted alongside the '94, and the change in style to more accessible, soft tannins, was palpable)
