Dramatic aromas and recognizable Ribbon Ridge flavors. There is considerable depth and crunchy Pinot flavor even after 10 years. But for me, at least, the finish is still a little hot, though great with rich food.

SLightly cloudy and ruby colored with medium opacity. There was a savory nose of bing cherry, raisins, smoke, spice and vanilla. The medium to high acidity and powdery, round tannins carried and showed off very rich, ripe cherry fruits. This finished long. Very nice.

Drank from a 3 liter that was open all day. Blind I would have guessed Burgundy give the effervescence, acid and stem. As time went on ripe fruit begins to emerge. It could be the large format but no rush to drink these.

Mainly Oregon (Noizé): Single Blind. Mid to full cherry. Oak, spice and dark strawberry on the nose. Dark and savoury on the palate. Slightly dry edge and then a sense of cola at the edge. Big wine. Might need food but actually it’s not de trop. One to watch overnight…. still showing well after 36hrs. Yes it’s big, and dark fruited, but there’s something really quite engaging here, and I like it, despite the nearly 14.5% abv. The dark fruit is given some focus and line by a nicely savoury quality. The cola element has gone, as has any sense of dryness and there’s quite a bit here considering the vines were only 4 years old.Worth another point. ****

Wow. Amazing straight from the bottle minimal decant. Really supple, soft tannins. Nose was spicy somehow, almost like a Shiraz. Really really good.
