Dark purple in color. The nose gives off hints of currant and earthy currant. The flavors are black currant, graphite and very forward tannins that last all the way through the finish. More Bordeaux in style than your classic Washington Merlot. I noticed a good deal of sediment so decant for best results.

caramel leads the way on the nose with a strong black cherry-prune aspect. Very lush pushing overripe aromatics. Good concentration with surprising astringency-acidity going on..almost makes it a bit thin and simple....makes me wonder if they acidified (alc is labeled at 14.5) midpalate is dominated by chocolate and cherries while the finish is long and hot, but still pleasant with notes of chocolate and pruney spices. Has some similar aspects to the 2003 barroux cotes du ventoux on the nose..but lacking the complexity of that wine.

Decanted 30 minutes. Dark eggplant purple color. Nice bouquet of dark fruit with plenty for the palate, balanced with fine, slightly drying tannins. Unfortunately the last one from the cellar - hopefully my LWS will be able to get me some more.

Nose of caramel and baking spices, palate is a little acidic with dark berry flavor.
