  • Drank two bottles - the first appeared to be far more developed in age with slight brown robe - very accessible and on its way to being too mature.

Second bottle was fantastic and youthfull, even after decanting it was quite closed, focused cherry core with good acidity and tannin - showed real promise for co tinier aging. Not clear what to do - will put in cellar for another year. Really fantastic.

  • Needs an hour or so of air, then it’s simply gorgeous on nose and palate. Sweet fruit, leather, sous bois, smooth and long. Perfect now.

  • Medium ruby

Rocks and earth with the red and black fruit on the medium intensity nose.

Plums and red licorice outline fresh red fruits on the palate with more slate. Great tannins and acidity carry a lengthy finish. One of my favorite crus from this producer.

  • Prior bottle was a bit over 13 months ago and this wine has continued to evolve as I'd hoped. Black cherry, floral, earth, spices and minerals on the nose. Just a bit above medium bodied with rounded black cherry upfront, adding some slightly more tart and brighter black cherry behind. Mid-body continues to show really good depth as well as adding darker black cherry and raspberry. After 4+ hours open, this wine presents a very elegant and integrated style. Backside shows balanced tannins and acidity along with tart black cherry and minerals. Between the depth and overall balance, this remains a small step ahead of the Guardiola from last night. Should continue to evolve along these lines and show well over the next few years.

  • Sellar Rat summed it up nicely, though I would note great earth & mineral elements. A bit tight on opening, decanted 1 hour, fruit and mineral really popped. Lovely balanced acidity, with fine tannin. Juicy transparent richness, lively and clean. Moderate long finish. Great on its own and with dinner of homemade basil fettuccine and lemon veal scallopine.
