This is a very elegant and complex wine, made from volcanic soil vineyards more than 2500' up the slopes of Mt. Etna. The nose has medium (+) intensity, with floral aromas (honeysuckle and gardenia), ripe red fruit (strawberry and cranberry), spice (cinnamon), herbs (mint, pine needles), tobacco, cedar and smoky minerals. The oak treatment is very elegant and nuanced. This is a nicely balanced wine which is drinking beautifully now yet can benefit from another year or two of aging.

Lovely! Lighter red similar to Pinot Noir, but chalky, tannic, and great acid.
