Deep ruby with a purple core. A very bright and very lively nose suggests just ripe raspberries, blackberry candy, tropical fruit punch, red flowers and muddled mint. The liveliness carries over to the medium bodied palate where it seems nearly sweet with very candied fruit flavors offset by quite juicy acidity. There's very little about this wine that makes one think of Cabernet Franc, and frankly, to those of a certain age, the tropical fruit character here is quite reminiscent of Hawaiian Punch. This is ultimately a strange wine - not much from Paso clocks in at 12.9% abv and not much Cab Franc tastes like this - and one that is hard to make sense of.

I enjoyed this wine more than wino_tim apparently did but I believe he gave a pretty accurate description of the nose and taste of this very unusual Cab Franc. I probably wouldn't seek out more of this, but it was refreshing and interesting to drink nonetheless.

The nose is floral with cherry and a suggestion of smokiness. Body is mostly black cherry with some heavier blueberry notes and silky tannins. Tart currant lingers on a finish showing cool graphite minerality.

Not as good as my last bottle. Either bottle variation or past its prime.
