La Tablee: Grenache Seminar (Al Coro): Much less fruit here. This is all spice and smokiness and almost reminds me of tree bark or some of those christmas notes.

This is probably best this wine can get. Lucky to be in air conditioned territory. Outside 40 degrees centigrade. Wine at 18 degrees. Room at 24 degrees. All set. The color is darker than I remember and darker than Grenache is supposed to be. Who cares? Nose is wide open with repetitive shots of crushed black pepper and fresh pencil lead. The palate is dominated by black fruits and some leather. Full power lasting for minutes. Recommended by the sommelier of a three star restaurant I bought a case. Mistake. Should have bought more.

Did not appeal to me, high alcohol, fruit almost vanished and secondary flavours not developed yet. Not sure if it was just this bottle. Will leave remaining bottles for some time, think it might improve a bit.

The delicate, pretty nose wafts lavender potpourri, mountain strawberry, cherry compote, and graphite minerality. The medium body has svelte, elegant tannin and integrated modest acid. The structure is pleasantly elevated without sacrificing presence. The flavor profile includes cherry, strawberry, rhubarb, cassis, rose water, and garrigue. The finish adds a slightly fungal note. It’s a in great place right now, and although very good it lacks the depth to develop more character and complexity with extended aging. I say drink over the next five years.
