  • Brooding dark wine, with ripe cherry and stem on nose. With time in glass a nice spice, some wood, vanilla, and fruits brighten. More time in bottle likely helpful, and a decant could benefit enjoyment in meantime.

  • A bit of earthy spiciness with some mixed darker red fruits. A bit odd on the finish, perhaps as a result of the high alcohol. Still odd day 2.

  • Light ruby, hint of brick though tough to tell because it’s not in a normal glass. Nose: cedar, red fruit, cherry. Palate: very high alcohol, moderate acid, moderate to full body, low tannin, low sugar. Red fruit and a little woodiness on palate but tough to tell because it’s so hot from the alcohol. Structurally good wine but I am not a fan because of heat. Does this dissipate with time?

EDIT - this wine was purchased at a random liquor store and tasted in a hotel room. Who knows about the storage conditions. Negative review should not be relied upon - especially as I have had many other PGC wines since then and they were almost all outstanding.

  • Lilting perfumed nose, silky mouthfeel, Black Cherry & Raspberry flavors, smooth finish, with some mild heat on the fade (14% ABV)... I think it's delicious now, but will certainly benefit with 1-3 years cellar time. ** Day 2 started to get the 'green' flavor. Fruit started to fade as well **

  • Barrel sample at the winery. Bright red fruits, taut, and piercing acid. Gritty mouthfeel, generous, and persistent. Well made wine at an affordable price.
