  • PnP - Zalto burg - big nose of mint and green and lemon, almond and dry nuts. Vanilla. Orange peel or zest. From a conterno sensory there is some butterscotch and sweetness - marzipan and lemon drops? Palate is big and rich with some sweetness. Still some oak and vanilla. Rich but it’s got some snap and acid. Definite lemon. Finish shows the vanilla and nuttiness. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15.5-16/20.

  • PnP. Cork wet almost all the way. Medium deep gold in color. Nose is a bit restrained but more tropical than citrus. On the palate this is quite unctuous with a hint of butterscotch but otherwise clean fruit though lacking definition on the finish as acidity is low. Surprisingly good given its age and premox issues.

  • Started out OK . very golden and plenty of butterscotch and hazelnut, but enough acidity and citrus in finish to make it enjoyable (although I know plenty of people that would have dumped it down the drain as there are now many who scream "pre-mox" when a wine is just advanced). It was drinkable for an hour after opening, and then fell off the cliff. Like licking a rusty paint can. Half of the bottle got dumped.

  • Acquired upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this medium-to-deep golden Chardonnay is showing beautifully. Fully opening within thirty minutes of uncorking, it flaunts an intense and complex bouquet of orchard fruits, wet stones, butterscotch, coriander, rose petals and jasmine. Medium-bodied and with excellent lift, it delivers flavors in line with the aromas. The wine's oak and alcohol (listed as 14%) are fully integrated at this point and the mid-palate is dense. Long and crisp on the back end, this bottle is clearly at its apogee and shows no evidence of oxidation. Drink now.
