Nose of blackberries and dried herbs. Dark chocolate covered cranberries on the palate. Improves with decanting, but oddly flat despite good acidity. Feels a bit overworked, though a good wine overall.

Blue and black fruit on the nose with a bit of camphor. Hinting at ripeness but not fully delivering on the palate. Good structure but a streak of astringency dominates the front and There's a sharpness that just can't be shaken all throughout the finish. Just not my cup of tea and overall, probably not worth the ask at $18 IMHO. Does improve a bit with a few hours of air and definitely works better with food than on its own. Can generally do better around here

Last few years of Barbera from Alba or Asti have been inconsistent. This is the best bottle of Barbera I have tasted in awhile. Dark ruby red. Lovely nose of cherries. Medium bodied, nicely integrated fruit, sweet tannins and a decent amount of acidity to match with food. Nice pizza or red sauce pasta wine. Simple, tasty red for good QPR at about $20.

Dark style of barbera, licorice, old cedar, palate aeromatics lean towards the floral violets, good acid, juicy, really well done.
