  • Initial nose is a bit musty, good color, it’s a little spicy, high acid. Overall a good wine maybe better paired with food. Good with chocolate.

  • We love this wine! Though we think it might be coming down from peak. Perfect smooth tannins, with good berry flavor.

  • Absolutely fantastic for the $20 I paid- maybe close to $30 (average listed on wine-searcher) there are some more complex or memorable Pinot options, but this was just delightful and very, very well balanced.

Great nose of sappy, ripe red fruit, raspberry, strawberry, maybe the smallest pinch of smoke and vanilla. Not very earthy, but with just a kiss of something beyond the ripe fruit to add interest. A very persistent perfume that was fairly straightforward but super inviting.

Palate is about the same, plenty of ripe raspberry and strawberry with very, very elegant tannins and plenty of acidity, medium+. Not just "tart" either as the ripeness really harmonized with the freshness. I don't think more aging is necessary- tannins are getting integrated already and I don't really sense any hidden complexities lurking. Loved it as is for the price.

If you ever see this closer to $20 it's a must-buy for CA Pinot lovers, and around $30 it's still definitely worth it.

  • Lighter in color. A bit of stink in the nose when 1st opened soon goes away, yielding raspberry and spice. These flavors continue thru to the taste, which finishes with a citrusy tartness together with muted oak. More Oregonian and Burgundian than Californian. Not a powerhouse, this is more a Beaujolais-style Pinot. Like most California Pinots, somewhat overpriced.
