Lovely, food friendly drink. A slight bit of oxidation, but it lent a slightly burnt sugar taste. Bubbles were medium fine. The finest Franciacorta that I have tasted in my limited experience.

Discovering Italian Wine at the Texas Wine School. 100% Chardonnay, aged 36 months on the lees. Pale yellow with gold hue. The perlage is fine and persistent. The nose shows bruised apple, lemon, toasted almond and intense toast and yeast due to the extensive lees aging. The nose is developed. The palate is dry, crisp, with med (+) acidity, med alc. (12.5%). With nice flavor intensity and length, this wine is showing particularly well after 7 years. Drink in the near future, not likely to further improve with additional aging.

Light straw in colour. Attractive nose: preserved lemon and brioche. On the palate, medium-bodied, lots of citrus fruit with balancing acidity. Very long. A fine mousse. Very good indeed. 12.5%, cork.

Fizz Feast Edinburgh 2017 (Edinburgh Academy): Bright gold. Clean white fruit aroma, albeit faint. Then broad, more generous, with pear and even a hint of caramel. Delicious taste, lots of fruit, but a touch aristocratic, not at all blowsy. Very good. 100% chardonnay. [Woodwinters, £26].
