  • i'm having fun following kstoddard's notes tonight. and he so loves pinot! double blind. rustic and thick. a burg head commented that it was "gevrey-like." i prefer my pinot with a more delicate touch. i presume a pristine bottle like this will keep for another 10 years.

  • Popped and poured at Lorena's in Maplewood, NJ today over lunch with friends, and this drank well from the get go. Nice dark cherry and raspberry nose, with subtle Asian spice and cedar notes. Much of the same on the palate, wih nice fruit. Cherry and strawberry were the shining star here, with a nice acidity, and clean finish. A classic example of a good, mature, California pinot noir. Drink 'em if you got 'em, and decant for sediment. 91 points. Cheers!

  • Start rather closed showing a deep black raspberry fruit, green olive and grilled meat note. Very smooth and just a little flat. Opened up considerably over an hour or so ending with a wonderfully sappy cherry, cranberry and brighter personality. The cork on this wine was soaked almost to the top, so I suspect a little premature aging.

  • Aromas of black raspberry, chocolate covered cherries, grilled meats and green olive. Fat on the palate with more raspberry and some tart cherry. The finish shows good persistence and a good acid driven structure. Will go many more years and likely continue to improve. Interestingly this wine has a very similar profile to the closely located Landmark Kastania Pinot with the same earthy, slightly reduced character.
