Rich baked apple and dried pineapple, with plenty of brown sugar and honey and botrytis. Not flabby but not racy either, showing less acid than Rieslaner can have. Not particularly minerally. Delicious but not hitting the hits that these old M-Cs can often hit.

A little more developed than my last few experiences with this wine - the ripe apricot and peachy fruit has taken on a more burnished and smoky tinge, though there's still plenty of that high toned Rieslaner spice apparent here. It's mellowed out a bit as well on the palate where it feels rounder/more gentle than I remember, but the overall balance here is fantastic and this is wonderful at the end of the meal with cheese.

Level about 5cm from the cork with obvious signs of leakage...and the cork dissolved upon attempted opening as well. Fortunately the indestructible Auslese survives! The nose is a little muted showing caramel, apricot, toffee apple and candied tropical fruit, waxy and ginger spice. On the palate it's unsurprisingly rich but juicily acidic. Well balanced sweet and fresh notes with flavours of ripe apple, apricot and pineapple, touches of fruit lozenge. Simply wonderful.

Amber to orange. Apricot, mango a touch of a nutty note. Holding nice acidity still. Balanced with an underlying richness. Really great.

Mango, stone fruit, and a touch of honey and minerals. Terrific, but the acidity is starting to fade so it is probably time to drink them up.
