  • Some development to the colour (and haze?)

Pretty welcoming nose, open and jolie. Some herb resin, all round and bloomy, mulchy, basil-tinged. Generous and plump feel, old tobacco and pencil shavings. Complex and sweetly perfumed.

Very full bodied, but supple with it, creamy tannins and some sandy grip. Savoury mid palate really drives on to a fresh finish. Notes of liquorice towards back palate, more savoury and dried elements too. Pretty restrained. Well balanced, serious and a little more old fashioned to me. Has good poise and freshness… grows on me.
