Well tonight I picked this wine for out taco salad dinner (everything you would expect...salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, chips, and seasoned ground beef). This wine excelled in performance. Aromas of blackberry and smoke...flavors of blackberry with a earthy taste with a touch of pepper. Light acidity, light tannins and a very smooth lasting finish! This is one of the better Zin's I have had from Ridge (and boy can they make some good wine)

Opened 3 hours. Color is deep garnet with some age showing on the rim (brownish red). On the nose; cassis, plums and a bit of alcohol heat. To the taste: beautifully vivid plum, Cranberry, vanilla, loads of spice , maybe some dark chocolate and I do get some alcohol heat. I would give another year or two and I think it will improve. If you can’t wait then open ahead 4 hours as it improved the more it was open; the plums gets better and the alcohol heat seems to burn off. Solid wine.

Floral and mountain air with asphalt on the nose. Dark berry with menthol and pepper spice. Mild tannins makes for silky slightly acidic finish. Not your typical Ridge but delicious. Served with spicy Italian sausage pasta dish.

Excellent Zin from Ridge. Nice fruit forward taste with a bit of spice/kick.
