  • At our house with ravioli. Russ and Liz both really liked it. Got better with more time in decanter and in glass. Was a bit funky nose on open but was beautiful.

  • With lasagna. First barolo from my cellar. Really beautiful wine. Still tight with strong tannins but they weren’t biting like what you see from a young left bank Bdx. Smell was complex and nuanced though didn’t pop out of glass.

Got better over time in the decanter.

Keep the remaining two bottles as this will only get better. If opening now decant for 3 hours and enjoy.

  • Decanted for almost 2 hours before tasting. There was a lot of funk in the nose up front, but it evolved to very appealing cherries and baking spices after an hour in the decanter. In the glass there’s still earth and herbs mixed with the fruit on the bouquet. The up front palate is full-on cherry though, with mild herbs, earth and gripping tannins on the finish. Wonderful. I usually don’t give good Italian wines enough air, but this time I did and the rewards are profound. I will give my remaining bottle a couple more years, but IMO it drinks very well now with patience.

  • Fresh raspberry on the nose, none of the off-putting smell described in prior CT reviews. Very light color, almost translucent; medium-to-light body, very balanced red fruit palete. This is a very good and enjoyable barolo, and is drinking well now.

  • Medium garnet red with lots of bricking. Very stinky on the attack of the nose with cured meats, dark berries, earthiness, leather, and dried herbs. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Quite a bit of cherries, solid minerality, leather and some spices. Long and lingering finish, a bit dry too. Drink till 2030.
