Wines Tasted at HDH Auction: Tasting, brief note. Ripe red and black cherry starts of out forward and seemingly accessible for young Chambertin. Density and tannins emerge at the end along with more tannins. Beautiful now, but the sneaky structure makes me confident of plenty of upside.

HDH Burgundy Auction; 4/13/2018-4/14/2018 (Chicago, IL): This shows some significant oak notes as well in the form of some coffee notes. The oak character here is stronger than the Beze (which I actually preferred to this wine). It's still preternaturally young, with lots of grainy tannins and closed-up flavours; I'm sure this will get better with some more time, but it's a little weaker right now.

Wines tasted at HDH Celebration of Burg Auction - Day Two: Big, ripe and dense. More brooding and closed in than the Beze tasted earlier. Like a barrel sample, with little nuance at this stage. Chewy. Lots of oak, which should integrate with time. Needs decades. 93+
