  • Good red blend that comes at a good price. Pretty well rounded and enjoyable with some red fruits and little oak. Not a lot of complexity but I'm willing to take it for the good price.

  • 3 generations for the family. Cab, merlot, Fr and usa oak. I've always liked for for the price, bramble notes and more dried herbal notes.

  • This must be on day two. Showing a bit disseccated, and raspberry and saltiness.

  • Pleasant surprise here -- was a check-in gift at the Harvest Inn in Napa for a one-night stay. Generous gift, but wasn't expecting much from a comped bottle. But this is really delicious stuff, and a super fun blend, which isn't what I expect from the folks at WH. Not that they don't make great wines, but the ones I've tried have been play-it-safe Bordeaux styles. This has the Cab and Merlot, but also some Syrah and Zin. WH's site says it's mostly Cab, with smaller (but equal) part Merlot/Syrah, with a little bit of Zin splashed in. To me it tastes less like a mostly-Cab blend and more like a version of The Prison, albeit one that trades in its tank top for a collared shirt.

The wine is round and approachable -- a little bit of fine tannin, but soft overall. Crisp blackberry, raspberry jam, tobacco, and licorice. Not crazy complex as others have noticed, but the balance and length are terrific. Crisp, juicy finish hangs out 30+ seconds, and made this go great with pasta and red sauce. Awesome value from an O.G. Napa producer, and a fun alternative to the traditional style of wine coming from that valley.

  • BTG restaurant purchase. Very aromatic mixed sweet red and black berries, candied cherries, and juicy plum. Jammy and smooth, but little to no complexity. Good with appetizers.
