  Cherries and flowers on the nose, along with some nutty aromas (similar to what I get in Sherry), thyme, and a hint of a motor oil smell. On the palate, cherries and raspberries along with black olives and a bit of dill and star anise. The nuttiness I detected on the nose is present too, but toned down vs. the nose. The wine still has a good amount of acid and noticeable, grippy tannins.
  
  Overall, a good wine with a lot of things going on. It is quite savory with a fair amount of herbal flavors, but there is still some fruit present. Despite being over 10 years old now, the tannins don't seem to be all that soft and make themselves known with each sip. The Sherry-esque smell concerns me a bit, as it does suggest some oxidation. I don't know if it is just this bottle or if the wine is beginning to approach the end of its life. I plan to drink my last bottle of this wine sooner rather than later just to be safe.

  Φεστιβάλ ταννινών! Πρώτη γουλιά για δοκιμασία και τράβηγμα τα ούλα! Ούτε σε λίφτινγκ τέτοιο χαμόγελο. Για τη τιμή του.....βάζει κάτω πολλά Nebbiolo (....ακόμα και αν είναι Barolo ή barbaresco) με τριπλάσια τιμή. Cheers και για την ιστορία, το ήπια με ένα ribeye στα κάρβουνα

  Tons of grippy tannin coat the mouth, fairly high acidity, medium alcohol, fresh dark cherry, ample oak on the nose, spice and vanilla, touches of strawberry and raspberry but also some dark fruits. This can definitely benefit from additional aging.
