Found this bottle at a supermarket must have stayed there for 5 years and the wine tastes like it has been spoiled. Behind the aromas which remind a drain pipe there is some strawberry jam, mushroom which recall a Burgundy. Texture in the mouth is silky but the wine is undrinkable. With good provenance it might have been nice...

Quite deep garnet for the variety and no orange on the rim. Fairly intense aromas on the nose. Mostly olives and spices. Good typicity. Medium bodied, mellowed tannins but still fresh. Good food friendly wine with aromas, flavours and aftertaste.

The Sampler (The Sampler, Angel, London): Made from 100% Xinomavro, this wine is light red in colour. The nose was slightly bitter and porty. The palate showed very sweet red fruit, and not a lot of other character. Not great, potentially oxidised.

(Boutari Grande Réserve Naoussa) Slightly bricking dark red violet color with pale meniscus; berry, currant, earthy, VA nose; tart berry, currant and mineral palate with depth; medium-plus finish (my sister and brother-in-law obtained this at Boutari on a trip to Greece over a year ago)
