On a slow decline. Fruit has dried out in mid palate. Never really gained the complexity I expected. Maybe the relatively young vines are the cause. Better a year ago

Lovely lifted red berry nose. Has accelerated its development over the past 6 months and not convinced this needs much more cellaring. Now quite soft on the palate and finish. Some earth and forestry notes coming through, but finish is shortening a little. Lovely wine but not a long keeper.

A lovely young Pinot. Very lifted red fruited nose with a touch of spice. The palate at this stage is very primary, again red fruited , mid weight and light on its feet. Doesn’t as yet have the complexity of the nose, still a bit simple and linear, but lots of potential. Not as earthy and plummy as later Butchers Hill and would have picked it as the Cooinda. Very impressive.

Gee this is a good Pinot, complex and long, deep fruited with great density and poise. Medium weight, crystal ruby in colour, floral and earthy on the nose with hints of wood. Palate is silky, elegant but with real drive, black cherries, smoke and cedar, a little herbal and sappy. Just lovely stuff from Pooley.

Only 450 cases of this lovely Pinot made. Candied black cherries, mint, vanilla, spices, faint mushroom. Palate is similar with the mushroom a lot bolder, a long finish with a touch of liquorice. I'm a big fan of Pooley, their single vineyard releases are spectacular.
