Gorgeous dark fruit, spices, slightly grippy tannins that are very approachable, very good.

  • Day -1: Solid medium ruby. Very Gevrey with its smoky meatiness, underbrush, mint, small berries and minerality. Quite powerful. Nice fresh entry with medium acidity, pretty good effort for 2015. Not extracted, it has some power and depth but not overly so, especially when the fruits remains fresh. Firm tannin grip, well balance by the fruits and acidity, leading to a medium length, savory aftertaste with touch of oak and heat. Heat disappeared after 3hrs.

Day-2: Much more expressive, still have this smoky meatiness but with red flowers now, wood spice and very nice acidity (freshness) and mint. Better integration of oak, very juicy but not heavy, could guess 2014 if blinded. Good weight, very light inner perfume.

  • Excellent Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, over all at this price point. Great vintage.

Very smooth which is a surprise this young. Almost decadent.

After having two bottles I had to get a case. Will be interesting to see how it develops over the years :)

Get some for your own cellar while you still can!

  • Tasting Gevrey Chambertin 2015 in Burgundy (Roi Chambertin, Gevrey Chambertin): This was quite delicious, smooth and savory but not quite as nuanced as the Esmonin tasted just before. More decadent so lovers of that style will score higher.
