Francois and Pascal Cotat are reputed to be among the finest producers of sauvignon blanc in the Loire, but there is little information online about their pinot noir. That is a shame, because this wine was lovely. It offered cool strawberry and raspberry flavors with an underlayer of umami (wife called it seaweed soup) and light baking spices. Great with a variety of foods, ranging from vegetables to sturgeon.
Tasted at Simone (LA).

First bottle cracked. Incredible. Minty and herbal, red raspberry and cranberry notes. This wine is crazy good.
