Wonderful mature nose with pear, light caramel, and some sweet spice notes including clove on the backnose. Youthful aspects to the palate with acid balancing caramel and ripe dark pear. Slight saline and metallic elements to the finish. Great while it lasted but started to fade (albeit slowly) after 1+ hour of air time. 95-96

I have to admit that I am not very familiar with this vintage, more often seeing the '64 and '66 wines come about, but this bottle was really nice with lovely mature notes on the nose and quite a bit of verve in the glass.

This was really cool to try as I believe it was Krug's first Collection release? It was pretty mature with a bit of that sherry note, the chardonnay seemed a bit more prominent as there was lots of citrus flavors. Also plenty of toasted nut, and brioche. This particular bottle would probably not improve with further storage

Characteristic Krug candied orange peel and bread dough with a slightly oxidative edge and starting to develop some mature coffee undertones. A light mousse still left but less apparent to the eye than on the palate. A powerhouse, rich wine with a tangy palate and good acidity. Slightly top heavy but great depth and balance. Deliciously decadent and very alive.

Unfotunately the bottle had completely turned. What a disappointment at New Year's eve.
