Charleston VII; 11/2/2022-11/6/2022 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): Perhaps the wine that I was most excited about for this weekend and so fun to have it be the first wine poured. It did not disappoint. I've been lucky enough to have some old Krug but none that seemed quite as well preserved as this bottle was. Just awesome. Not really effervescent anymore but there's the memory of it in the wine. Still lots of acid. Nutty and caramel without the sweet but still with that unctuous style. It's a very special wine. Often when I love something I leave it to evolve through the end of the night but this was so good I found my glass gone faster than I expected. Special and amazing (or very good if you take the words of my compatriots)

In my opinion to tired and flat for this vintage. Bottle was in pristine condtion the content unfortunately not. It has Krug perfume but not his freshness, some caramell in the finish, disappointing. 92

Krug Lover Dinner with Olivier Krug (Daniel Dal Ban 1876 (Tafelspitz) Düsseldorf): not blind
From regular bottle at his peak. Bubbles, lush. Roasted almonds, grapefruit peel. Spicy notes. 99

Beautiful bottle. Golden and complex and yet still fresh and energetic across the palate. 96-97
