Very nice everyday quaffer. Opaque. Tomato and cocoa on the nose with a bit of herb. Coffee and herb on the palate with a nice acidity that will cut through stronger foods. Short but pleasant finish. Just a little hot. Good QPR.

Loads of dark fruit on the nose, giving way to more tart and savoury notes on the palate. This is what I was looking for out of a monastrell, though I was a bit surprised at how fresh this felt despite sitting at 14%. The dark fruits on the nose - plum, blackberry, currants, black cherry - were followed by coffee and chocolate-covered-cherry. On the palate, raspberry made an appearance while herbs, spice, and earth/forest notes took over. There wasn't a ton of depth though at this price point the complexity was certaibly suitable. Tannins were higher than I would have liked causing a bit of unbalance; fortunately the acidity was where it needed to be. If only that delicious chocolate cherry had made its way to the palate! Still, good quality for the price and a bottle I'd drink again.
