This blend of 70% Corvina Veronese, 25% Rondinella and 5% Sangiovese is perfect with hearty food such as grilled red meat, or lasagna. The nose has layers of earth, bassalt, cherry, and sage. The palate offers blackberries, chocolate, forest floor, loam and mushrooms. Plenty of true grit and silky fruit with balance and very good acidity.

Good berry and spice smell, "tangy and tawny" (per my wife) with a smooth finish. Wasn't great, but ok. Was also not well cellared and should have been drunk several years ago.

A bit past it's prime at this stage. Drink the rest now if you've got 'em.

Boerne Wine Club - Italy (Scenic Loop Cafe, San Antonio, TX): Fresh berry nose with leathery background. Round meaty palate with red fruit core. Dry mineral finish. I especially liked the meaty character of this.
