FWSG 2015 White Burg horizontal tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of green pear, citrus lemon-lime, saline wet stones minerality. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of green pear, honeydew melon, citrus lemon-lime, saline wet stones minerality. Some oak spice with some nuttiness that lingers to the long spiced pear finish. Very good quality. Complex. Layers that slowly reveal themselves. Should blossom further as it develops over the next few years.

Third of 3 Chassagne blinds. Initially ripe and somewhat unfocused on the nose, with a ripe palate. However, after about 30-45 minute this gains real depth and power, and some complexity emerges; unlike the first two, this is a bit more ripe fruit on the nose and palate, with a bit of apple and pear rather than white fruit. With time, the palate develops complexity and depth, which suggests there's a fair amount of life ahead. This is definitely from a riper vintage, but I wouldn't have pegged it as a 15, which often suffer from a real shortfall of acidity.

Tropical and tight; may not yet be open for business. On the plus side, good concentration and length. Have a bunch of these and am hopeful it will integrate better with time. Suggest holding for another couple of years.

Enjoyable but obviously marked by vintage, the mineral element is there but held back by tropical and sweet marmalade notes, like apricot jam. Has good depth, has good finish, but ultimately quite unprecise and broad for a Caillerets.

First, don’t even touch this without at least an hour or two and preferably three hours open. Too tight. Opens up very nicely; see Derek’s note below.
In my opinion, a good wine and will continue to improve the time. Glad I have more.
