  • 13,5% alcohol, 1 g/l residual sugar and 5,2 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Fully opaque, luminous purple color with an almost unreal violet hue. The nose feels restrained, sweet-toned and very berry-driven with aromas of sweet red fruits, some blueberries, light floral notes of violets and a hint of candied primary fruit. Contrasting the lush, sweet nose, the wine is dry, medium-bodied and relatively thin on the palate with quite light flavors of ripe boysenberries, bilberries and some blueberry juice with an understated streak of woody spice. I guess the lack of intensity stems from the lack of acidity, as the wine feels quite low in acidity, which also translated to very soft and mellow structure. No tannins to speak of. The finish is quite short and pretty thin with slightly sweet-toned flavors of bilberries, some boysenberries, a little bit of red plummy fruit and a touch of blueberry juice.

Meh. Very underwhelming, simple and dull Zweigelt with a character that is more "juice-like" than particularly juicy. Thin and lacking depth. Pretty uninspiring. Expensive for the quality at 14,90€ - this drinks like a wine that should be sold at half the price.

  • Very pale pink color, floral and watermelon scents, light body and crisp acid, dry finish with a slight effervescence makes it very refreshing on a early summer evening.
