Deep reddish pink. Nose seems a bit sweet. Jolly rancher notes with hints of warm spices. Cherry. Palate big and ripe and a tad off dry. Great acid supports it with some mineral base.

Adding another note a week after the last one to say that this bottle was a notch better - still a bit concentrated compared to recent years, but in good balance otherwise, with mouthwatering acidity. Happy to have more.
Side note: I also found a couple of 2017 bottles in storage and noted that the color wasn't all that different versus the 2018. Not really consequential, but interesting to me.

Consumed over ~2 hours in small pours, warming from fridge temp to room temp. More kool-aidy in color and taste than the last couple of vintages, which I think speaks to the grape maturity as others have mentioned. There's still a good amount of acidity, which is welcome. I might not like this quite as well as previous vintages, but still - finding this on closeout, I am happy to have a stash for the warmer months.
