I tasted this wine at the Clos Pegase winery and bought a bottle a couple of years ago. I obviously liked it then to spend over $100 on a bottle. Opened it tonight and was disappointed. The alcohol is strong on the nose and dominates the finish. It got better after open for an hour or so and paired decently with a ribeye. But, overall, I was disappointed considering the price.

At the Salt Lake City Vino Volo. Something seems odd - this is def the same name of the wine but first of all this should not be a $120 bottle (which is what the CT value is) and second of all they are offering it here for a taste for $33 and their tastes are usually similar to bottle prices. So something is a bit off. This is a bit of a disjointed new world mess. The alcohol is really offputting on the nose and just dominates. The fruit is pretty intense. There's not a lot of other balance. It's lighter style (not totally gloppy), but not my style at all. Unfortunate.

Nice Cab. Big in the mouth. A bit on the jammy side. Nice with the steak we had last night.
