Ripe red and dark fruit, some earthy, briny and chalky notes, still fresh and lively, with a silky texture. Quite complex for a village wine. Wonderful now, but still early in the prime window.

Pop and pour and just singing out of the gate. On the nose: lovely gevrey funk, perfumed red fruit and loads of spice..so complex. On the palate: fantastic acidity, ethereal mouthfeel and weight, soft red fruit, very finely grained tannin on the lovely, slightly chalky (austere?) finish. Anyway, this was a benchmarking exercise...this has loads in the tank, and I will check back at some point...I only say that because I buried my other bottles just so they would be hard to find....

Has that welcome combination of dark berry fruit balanced by supporting acidity. Drying wood/tannin after the initial fruit. Light-medium body. A nice mid-week quaffer. Good potential for improvement with time in the bottle.
