I enjoyed the 2016 a little more. Mineral bouquet with some boysenberries and the typical intense white pepper. A little rustic but still an interesting wine. I would not keep it too long.

Medium minus ruby. Beautiful nose with equal parts herbal notes and mid-ripe slightly confected cherry. Faint hints of green fresh pepper tree fronds, hints of perfumes VA with a vaguely Italian feel. On the palate, medium body, medium alcohol - feels 12.5%, high acid, medium tannins - a bit rustic like an Etna Rosso. It’s a bit like someone mixed Etna Rosso with Moulin-a-Vent. I’m loving this - a bunch of my favorite wine elements in one place.

I love brining this wine to events, it's such an odd-ball but overall really good as well. Smells like Marijuana, no question, cherry, spices, tea leaf, good balance, chewy tannins. Some might even say like a nice American Pinot mixed with bong water.

Real nice on day 2. Lean and mineral, barely ripe red fruits. Tannin still noticeable.
